The Charter for Compassion began as an idea by author and scholar Karen Armstrong in her book “12 Steps to a Compassionate Life,” that morphed into a written mission crafted by luminaries like the Dalai Lama who blended religion and secular spirituality in a way that everyone can comfortably sign onto. That idea has now evolved into a global organization with partners around the world. Charter partners envision a future where compassion is the genesis of every interaction on the planet. Every. Single. One.

The Charter calls you into action providing the framework, tools and programs to bring about a viral movement reaching a critical mass of compassion that generates and guarantees a just, peaceful and sustainable world—that we, ourselves, create and bring about.
