During the past several years the Charter for Compassion has participated in the 40 Days of Peace celebrating the extraordinary grassroots, national and global challenges that MLK has charged us to follow. The programs outlined below refer to “The Triple Evils,” addressed in Where Do We Go From Here. Martin Luther King was a powerhouse for his time and beyond. He is one of the greatest intellectuals in American history—a man of substance and action. He understood how to bridge the depravities of poverty to the wealth of nations and the struggle for freedom to the core of creating a “beloved community.”

Facilitated by Dr Richard Rose

January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 18 and 26

at 12 pm PST / 2 pm CST / 3 pm EST

Cost for the course $45.

By examining the work of four Community Builders this course will introduce participants to some of the challenges around the building of the Beloved Community in the midst of a divided nation and ideologically separated global community.

These sessions will address the need to create communities of human flourishing that are sensitive to the requirements for ecologically sustainability. In seeking to build the Beloved Community, the course offers a Community Engagement component that encourages the pursuit of meaning, commitment to truth-seeking pluralism, and first-person engagement through participation in a community building activity.
