Empowering Education: Using MY HERO to Inspire Compassion, Cross-Cultural Understanding, and Peace
Date: January 16, 2025, 7:30am to 9am PT
With Laura Nietzer from My Hero Project
The MY HERO Project uses media, art, and technology to celebrate the best of humanity, one story at a time. Using MY HERO's free multimedia resources that inspire and educate on human rights, environmental stewardship, peace, and social responsibility provides students with real-world examples of individuals who embody these values.
These stories from diverse cultures and backgrounds help students gain a broader understanding of global issues and diverse perspectives. Taking part in MY HERO gives students an appreciation for diversity and shared responsibilities as global citizens by introducing them to inspiring role models who work to protect the planet, advocate for peace and human rights, and strive toward social justice.
The MY HERO Teachers Room has lesson plans and resources organized by both themes and grade levels. By being introduced to young activists, students of all ages realize that they too have the potential to create positive change in the world.
